Surprise!!!

Well, this past month has been pretty eventful around here. But in all technicality, it has been crazy since the end of September with the news we received.

Yes, that's right! We are expecting again!!! This will be our 4th child. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have 4 kids. When I took the test, I was like there's no way I'm pregnant again. When I saw the positive result though, I broke down in tears. I was a mess. All I could think of was having 3 kids in diapers. It scares me still to think about it. Kayla was 3 when she finally got potty trained so maybe this summer I'll be able to get Alex going. We are expecting this little bundle on June 7th, 2018. As I have told many people though we'll see them sooner. I never make it to my due dates.

So as of today I am 12 and 1/2 weeks along. My due date actually got switched at that ultrasound appointment. My original due date was May 30th. I was measuring a week behind though. So no biggie. I actually go for another ultrasound this Friday to get some testing done to make sure all is good with this little one. At the first one, everything looked okay so far. Another reason I"m terrified to be pregnant again is the fact we already have one medically fragile child. I'm terrified of it happening again. It was really hard with Emma the first year. We made it through though.
Now I am a Star Wars fan. So I've been trying to push for this little ones name to be Star Wars themed. I like the names Luke, Anakin, or Leia. So far I've been shut down. I think I may get my wish though. We shall see.
Now you ask, how are the kids taking the news??? Well Kayla is excited for a new baby. She says maybe this baby won't be so annoying like her brother and sister. Yeah, okay. We'll let her think that. Emma and Alex are still pretty little and don't understand too much. But we ask them from time to time if they want mommy to have a brother or sister. Emma told us a sister and Alex told us a Spiderman. He's a goofball child. I've already predicted I'm having a girl because of how I've felt. I've been pretty sick these past few weeks. Joey has said if it's another girl, he's taking Alex and leaving. He said this as a joke. Don't worry, he's not going anywhere.

The most fun about this pregnancy is I don't have to go through it alone. My cousin is also pregnant. She is 7 weeks ahead of me. Our grandma knew before she passed. We had hoped she would make it long enough to meet these new babies but she was taken from us too soon. We know she'll be watching over them though. So most of mine and my cousins conversations involve food. We've had some fun cravings so far and annoyed men.

What are some cravings I've been having so far??? well let's take a look....

Grilled cheese!!! It's one of the few things I've been able to keep down with no issues. For a snack I'm loving M&M Blizzards from Dairy Queen. Another food I've been wanting a lot of is pasta. Every morning I start my day off with a bowl of cereal to get some kind of food in my stomach so the nausea doesn't kick in. Some days are harder than others. My doctor prescribed me nausea meds but unfortunately they knock me out. So I deal with everything the best I can. I should be about done with the morning sickness part of the pregnancy but we will see.

So that's been our excitement these past few months. And the reason it's been hard for me to keep up on things. Some days I just feel too miserable to even move. I can't wait to keep you updated throughout our journey with all my crazy cravings and pics.

Crazy October

Hello everyone! I know it's been almost a month since I've posted last, but so much has been going on in my life and I've been battling some depression. This whole month has been a whirl wind of emotions.
This month, I lost my grandma. She was my last living grandparent. I was able to see her a few days before she passed. I gave her a hug and told her I loved her. It was so hard leaving her that day. I know that she is in a much better place now and in no more pain. While my Aunts and Uncle fought over money, all I asked for was the extra silverware she had at her house. Nothing will bring her back. Emma and Alex were too little to understand what was going on. Kayla was upset at losing her Great Grandmother. The funeral was small and family only. She didn't want a big fuss. I am happy that she is at the cemetery that's not far from me. So I can visit her when I need to.
The depression I've been battling is in part to losing my grandma. I also have some other stuff going on that I'm not ready to share yet but it's been a big reality check. I'm trying so hard to stay functioning for the kids. I can't shut down. I have to be there for them. Do I have sad moments during the day? Sure I do. I'll let a few tears fall but then I pull myself together and move on. My mood effects the kids moods. So I try not to let my mood show too much.

Now onto some positive stuff. Kayla had her awards assembly at school the other day. She got 3 awards. She made Honor Roll, received the Citizenship Award, and also a new award called the Principled award. The Principled Award is an award for one student per class who is always doing good and being kind. That kind of thing. I was pretty proud that she received that award. Her report card consisted of A's and B's. This year has been a little tougher for her but she's slowly getting the hang of things.

Today is Halloween. I didn't get a picture of Kayla in her costume. She's using a costume from previous years ago. She's being Princess Jasmine. Emma was Queen Elsa. Alex was Spiderman. The 2 youngest are most likely not going out tonight since the temperature will be low 40's. I have living in Ohio sometimes. Plus the 2 youngest have colds. I'd rather them stay inside and keep warm and watch cartoons.

Emma did get to trick or treat at school today. She got a few pieces of candy. They decorated their bags yesterday at school. They also played with a pumpkin and carved it and cleaned it out. Emma told me they made pumpkin pie. I laughed. They didn't really but it was cute that's what she thought.

The rest of the week will be fun. Thursday, Alex has an appointment to check his weight at the pediatrician. With him having a cold now I don't know how his weight will be. If it's still not good, I'll ask them to fill out a paper so maybe he can get on some pediasure through WIC. It'll help him gain a little weight. Friday I have Emma's parent teacher meeting at school to see how she's doing. Saturday my friend's and I are having some holiday festivities. We're calling it Friendsgiving. It will be our first time doing this. Each of us is making something and we're going to have a nice dinner together. Alex and Emma may be staying home though since they are sick. We'll see how they feel. I can't wait to post pictures from that.

I hope you all have a great Halloween. I will try not to be so long between posts again! Have a fun day!

Tonsils are gone!!!

I apologize for not posting in so long. It's been a long couple of weeks for us here. Let's start off with the big day!!!
Kayla went on September 19th to get her tonsils and adenoids removed because she snored slightly in her sleep and I didn't want it being an issue when she got older. Plus I hear it helps with less sore throats. We'll see if that's true or not.

While waiting for her turn in surgery, Kayla got to decorate her mask with stickers and chap stick. Now some of you are going "Why did she decorate it with chap stick?" I asked myself the same question. So here's the answer. What the nurses do is give the child some Lip Smackers chap stick that have different fun smells and you smear it on the inside of the mask and that's the smell you'll smell while going to sleep before surgery. Kayla chose a banana type smell. It smelled really good even though I don't like bananas.(Yes I know, I'm weird.) She also chose to color a picture while waiting. She never finished it though. She used gel pens to decorate it.
We ended up getting pushed back and they were also behind, so we got to enjoy 3 movies!!! We watched half of Zootopia, The Princess and the Frog, and Frozen(can't we just let it go already?) Not long after Frozen ended, Kayla's Dr finally came to talk with us and then she was heading off to surgery. Kayla got a little upset when it was time to go but I told her it would all be okay and she would be asleep. The nurse even said she would play whatever music Kayla asked for. Kayla requested Disney music. I love the nurses at Rainbows!
Surgery took a couple of hours with getting her to sleep, then the actual surgery, then waking up a little before we could go back. We were given a pager to let us know when surgery was done. I felt all 90's with it.

I was so relieved when we could finally go back and see her. There was a couple of times she took these big gasps of air that scared the crap outta me. The nurse assured me it was okay though. Her throat isn't used to so much more space. She was excited to eat a Popsicle. She ate 2 of them!

We were finally cleared to go home after 3:30. They gave us a sick bag just in case. She didn't need it though. She was fine.
This is what she spent a majority of the next 24 hours doing. I made sure she drank as much as possible. She was getting pretty annoyed with me telling her to drink all the time, but it's what mom's do. Didn't want her getting dehydrated and ending back in the hospital.
A few days after surgery, I got Kayla a mermaid blanket. She enjoyed it a lot. She was basically being a mermaid this entire time being home. She's barely spoken at all, so she was Ariel and I guess the evil sea witch stole her voice. She's finally talking more today though.

Last weekend I had dealt with some tooth pain and ended up getting 3 teeth pulled. I'm still dealing with phantom pain from time to time but I'm glad that I got it taken care of. It was an interesting weekend having both me and Kayla on a soft food diet. Joey ate whatever and Emma and Alex ate their usual hot dogs
Today after having breakfast, we got out of the house for a little bit before we had to get Emma from school. We went shopping for some milk and cookies. I also got Emma an outfit for her very 1st picture day next week.(sorry, no spoilers)

We checked out some ideas for Christmas gifts and had fun looking at Christmas decorations. I really liked the Minion. It was huge! After we got Emma from school, I had a fun surprise for the kids!

We spent some time at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium. We haven't been there all summer, so we were due for a visit. It doesn't take long to walk through. Maybe 45 minutes if that. After the trip to the aquarium, we headed back home for a little while.

Kayla is heading back to school on Monday and I can not wait!!! Yes it makes my mornings a little more hectic, but at least I get my hour with Alex back.
